On July 22, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m., the Saugerties Police Department arrested James M. Rucano, age 53, of Saugerties. He was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest (PL 205.30), Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree (PL 195.05), failure to obey a police officer (VTL 1102) and several traffic infractions (case AR-00238-26). Rucano was processed at the Saugerties Police Department, released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in Town of Saugerties Justice Court at a later date.
