Jeannette K-9 Diesel treated for minor injuries after pit bull jumps fence

Jeannette police, assisting the FBI at a home on Adam Street to locate a person wanted on federal drug charges, had Sergeant Phillips and K-9 Diesel securing the perimeter. A pit bull placed in the backyard jumped a 4-foot chain link fence, charged K-9 Diesel and bit him on the neck; both dogs were separated and Diesel was taken to an emergency vet for evaluation and minor treatment. The incident occurred while other officers were at the front door of the residence.
