Jeannette man charged in $5,300 home improvement fraud
Police say a contractor accepted $5,300 for a May 2026 painting job on North Market Street but never completed the work or returned calls.
Ligonier Valley Police charged 36-year-old Zachary Murphy of Keltic Contracting LLC after a homeowner said Murphy accepted $1,500 upfront and an additional $3,800 for a May 2026 painting job at a multi-unit residence on North Market Street but failed to perform the work. Investigators say Murphy gave excuses, then ceased communication; he now faces charges of home improvement fraud, theft and receiving stolen property. These are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
