Johnny Phouv Bounyasith arrested after school-zone traffic stop on Welsh Road
Police say a traffic stop for speeding in an active 15 MPH school zone led to the discovery of controlled substances and paraphernalia in the vehicle.
On October 5, 2026, Lower Moreland Township Police stopped a vehicle for exceeding the active 15 MPH school zone speed limit on the 200 block of Welsh Road in Huntingdon Valley. The driver, 31-year-old Johnny Phouv Bounyasith, was arrested after officers say they found controlled substances and drug paraphernalia; he faces two counts under 780-113 A16 (intentionally possessing a controlled substance) and three counts under 780-113 A32 (use/possession of drug paraphernalia). All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
