Joshua Tefft Sentenced After DeLand Construction Equipment Theft
Surveillance and a multi-agency probe led to recovery of stolen machinery and the conviction of the Pierson business owner.
On Jan. 11, 2025, a suspect driving a Bobcat skid steer stole a pallet fork from a DeLand construction site; the theft was captured on security camera. Detectives identified Joshua Tefft of All American Tree and Bobcat Services as the primary suspect, executed a Jan. 17 search warrant in Pierson that recovered multiple stolen items from several states, and on June 12, 2026 he pleaded guilty to grand theft, operating a chop shop and dealing in stolen property. On June 25 he was sentenced to 16 months in state prison, 10 years of probation with special conditions, and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution.
