Josiah Hess Sr. arrested on child endangerment and simple assault charges

On July 19, 2026 at 9:07 p.m., Ephrata Police responded to an assault report in the 600 block of S. Ridge Road in West Cocalico Township and arrested 41-year-old Josiah Hess Sr. of Denver. He faces charges of felony endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault related to domestic violence after authorities say the minor victim sustained injuries to the neck, chest, back, head and arms. Hess Sr. was transported to Lancaster County Prison for central arraignment and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
