Renovo police arrested 18-year-old Kaleb William Smith on Oct. 10, 2026 after he failed to stop for officers and fled on a motorcycle at an estimated 70 mph in a 25 mph zone during the Flaming Foliage Festival. Smith passed a vehicle on the left, crashed into the rear of a dump truck about 30 seconds after fleeing, was treated at Lock Haven Hospital for minor injuries, and later arraigned by MDJ Heidi Wright and committed to jail on $20,000 bail. Officers determined Smith never had a driver’s license, and the motorcycle was unregistered, uninspected, uninsured, and displayed a registration plate that did not belong on the vehicle; he faces felony fleeing, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and multiple registration/inspection and financial responsibility charges.
