Keenesburg police warn illegal fireworks will bring summons ahead of Fourth of July

The Keenesburg Police Department is telling residents not to set off illegal fireworks in or around Keenesburg. With this year’s exceptionally dry weather, even a small spark can cause a grass fire that threatens homes, property, livestock and lives; officers say those caught using illegal fireworks can expect a summons. The department urges people to celebrate responsibly so officers can spend the holiday with their families instead of writing tickets or fighting prairie fires.
