Kirsten Kurtz to Present on Soil Health and Soil Art
An overview of soil science for agricultural systems, historical soil degradation in the U.S., preservation and remediation methods, and soil painting as a communication tool.
Kirsten Kurtz, assistant director of the Cornell Soil Health Lab at Cornell University, will give a presentation on Saturday, April 25 covering soil science as it relates to soil health management in agricultural systems. She will address historical soil degradation in the United States, share preservation and remediation methods, and discuss soil’s role in art, including her use of soil painting as a communication tool. The event is aimed at current students, faculty and staff, and the wider community.
