Lititz Borough Police Adopt Live Scan Fingerprint System
Lititz Borough Police now use Live Scan electronic fingerprinting and CPIN photo uploads to speed identification, improve accuracy and share records with state and federal systems.
The Lititz Borough Police Department has implemented Live Scan electronic fingerprinting, replacing ink-and-roll prints with digital scans automatically transmitted to the Pennsylvania State Police Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) for identification and storage. The technology enables instant checks across local, state and federal databases, rapid custody screening for active warrants, automated quality assurance and error-free data submission; CPIN stations also capture and upload offender photos and distinguishing markings. LBPD obtained the system at no cost and will use it to streamline processing and enhance public safety (media contact: [email protected]).
