On World Mental Health Day (Oct. 10, 2026), the Lititz Borough Police Department highlights its Crisis Intervention Team training and available mental health resources.
Today is World Mental Health Day (Oct. 10, 2026), themed “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change” by the World Health Organization. The Lititz Borough Police Department says it supports national awareness efforts, trains all officers in Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) crisis-intervention—a police-based first-responder model with community, healthcare and advocacy partnerships—and has published an agency directive on police responses to people with mental health needs. For immediate help call 988 for suicide prevention and crisis support; additional resources listed include the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, SAMHSA, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and Lancaster County Crisis Intervention.
