Locust Township Police Warn of Counterfeit $5 Bills

The Locust Township Police Department says it has seen an increase in counterfeit $5 bills circulating locally and shared a photo of the fake note. Residents and businesses are urged to inspect bills for a security thread, a watermark when held to light, sharp printing and proper paper texture; if you receive a suspected counterfeit bill, do not pass it on and contact the department with when and where you received it. The department asks the public to share the alert to help prevent counterfeit currency from spreading.
