Locust Township Police Warn of Counterfeit $5 Bills Circulating

The Locust Township Police Department reports an uptick in counterfeit $5 bills being passed locally and urges residents and businesses to carefully check cash before accepting it. Look for an embedded security thread, a watermark when held to light, clear printing and proper paper texture; if you receive a suspected counterfeit, do not pass it on—note where and when you received it and contact the police for investigation.
