Loganton woman pleads guilty to forging doctor's notes
A Loganton woman admitted forging medical excuses and signatures to keep a habitually truant child out of school; sentencing is set for Oct. 6, 2026.
Dawn Herlocher, 48, of Loganton pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree misdemeanor forgery before Clinton County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Craig P. Miller. Pennsylvania State Police charged Herlocher with forging doctor’s notes from a Centre County medical provider on 17 occasions and providing them to Keystone Central School District officials to excuse a habitually truant minor in her care; investigators found she fabricated the excuses and forged the signatures of two different medical providers during 2024 and 2025. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 6, 2026; Pennsylvania sentencing guidelines call for probation of 24 to 96 months.
