Lucas Beaufort Takes Over South Bethlehem with Skate, Art and Community
Homebase Skateshop, Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG), and ARCHIVE present a free weekend on Aug. 15–16, 2026, featuring a panel, exhibition opening, live art demos, skate contests, and a community block party with music and food.

Homebase Skateshop, in partnership with Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) and ARCHIVE, are pleased to welcome artist Lucas Beaufort for a weekend celebrating the art, music, and skateboarding communities of South Bethlehem. The weekend’s events will be free and open to the public.
The festivities will begin at 5:30 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with a panelist discussion featuring Beaufort and local arts advocates, hosted by Lehigh University Art Galleries at 420 E. Packer Ave, Bethlehem (inside Zoellner Arts Center) Following the panel, the opening reception of a curated exhibition of local artists will begin at 7:30 PM at ARCHIVE, located at 308 East 3rd Street in Bethlehem.
The festivities will conclude with a community block party on Sunday, August 16, 2026, to be hosted outside of Homebase Skateshop at 29 W 4th Street, and along Vine Street between 4th & Rink Streets, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM in Bethlehem.
The block party will feature live art demonstrations with Lucas Beaufort, hands-on community art-making in partnership with local artists from Lehigh Valley Artist Meetup, kids’ skateboarding activities and “Best Trick” skate contests with Homebase’s Push Ahead program, and music by The Nite-Liters. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from Deja Brew Coffeehouse & Deli.
The weekend events are supported in partnership by Homebase Skateshop, Lehigh University Art Galleries, ARCHIVE, Southside Arts District, ALLOY 5, Community Action Development Bethlehem (CADB), Lehigh Valley Apparel Creations, and Lehigh Valley Artist Meetup.
About Artist, Lucas Beaufort:
Born in Cannes, France, Lucas Beaufort is a world-traveled painter whose work centers on playful, mischievous characters that help spread messages of peace and hope. Heavily inspired by pop culture, photography, and a deep love for skateboarding, Beaufort’s art centers on the beauty of human connection and global exchange. About the event organizers:
Founded in 2002, Homebase Skateshop is a Bethlehem-based business that serves as a hub for skateboarders and artists with a focus on building community through arts, advocacy, and education. In 2015, its second location, 2nd Base Vintage, opened in Easton with a focus on upcycling novel and collectible clothing from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.
Lucas Beaufort included HomeBase in his publication, “HEART” – a comprehensive visual archive that documents over 40 years of skateboarding culture and profiles 90 iconic skate shops worldwide. “HEART” serves as a tribute to these independent storefronts, framing them as the essential social spaces and foundations of local skate communities.
Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) is the university’s free, public art museum. Founded in 1926, its mission is to advance critical thinking, cultural understanding, and well-being for campus and community through transformative experiences with art. The museum’s permanent collection of over 20,000 works of art is displayed across seven campus gallery spaces, including its Main Galleries inside Zoellner Arts Center.
