Upper Saucon Township Police are warning residents to lock their vehicles, after they say parked cars in a residential neighborhood near Coopersburg were rifled through.

In an update published on the department’s Crimewatch site Tuesday, police said officers were called to the 5300 block of Red Oak Drive around 2:30 a.m. March 20 for a report of a man “attempting to break into multiple vehicles in the area.”

Arriving within four minutes of the call, police said officers located a vehicle fleeing the scene.

After stopping the vehicle, they said one occupant was taken into custody on outstanding warrants out of Allentown city.

“It did not appear that the (man) took anything of value, as both his person and vehicle were searched,” police said.

Neither the man who was arrested nor the other male occupants of the vehicle were named in the post by police, who also reminded residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from them whenever they are left unattended.

Anyone whose car may have been entered is asked to contact Ofc. Della Sala of the Upper Saucon Police at 610-282-3064.
