Man Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Ambulance in Columbia Borough

On July 20, 2026 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Columbia Borough police say 23-year-old Elijah Jordan Leed allegedly drove off in an ambulance that was on a call near 11th Street and Grinnell Avenue after a crew member stepped away to retrieve equipment. A crew member heard the motor revving, chased the vehicle and was able to restrain Leed until officers arrived. Leed was charged with theft by unlawful taking (motor vehicle) and driving without a license and was taken to Lancaster County Prison.
