Man Arrested After Baggs, Wyoming Shooting; Firearm Recovered
Moffat County deputies arrested a 37-year-old man after an early-morning shooting left a person wounded and prompted a cross-jurisdictional investigation.
On July 5, 2026, Moffat County deputies arrested 37-year-old Alejandro Rodriguez-Zarraga in connection with a shooting that left a person wounded. Deputies followed a red Ford Raptor to Memorial Regional Health in Craig, determined the shooting occurred in Baggs, Wyoming, recovered the firearm and charged Rodriguez-Zarraga with Possession of a Weapon While Under the Influence and Theft of a Firearm (Class 6 felony). The injured person was transported for treatment; the investigation is active and being coordinated with the Carbon County (Wyoming) Sheriff’s Office.
