Man Arrested After Short Foot Pursuit in Clifton
Mesa County deputies arrested a Clifton man on Aug. 10 after a brief foot pursuit during a trespassing call; officers say they found drugs and paraphernalia in his vehicle and charged him with multiple offenses.
On August 10, 2026, Mesa County deputies responded to a trespassing report on the 3200 block of F Road in Clifton. A man who refused to leave fled on foot and was detained on the 3200 block of E ½ Road; he was identified as Enrique Chavez, 31, of Clifton. Deputies say a search of Chavez’s vehicle turned up drugs and drug paraphernalia; he was taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility on charges including possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance (<4g, schedule I/II including flunitrazepam, ketamine, GHB), violation of a protection order, and warrants from other jurisdictions.
