Man Arrested After Short Foot Pursuit in Clifton
Deputies arrested a 31-year-old man after a brief foot pursuit at a Clifton property and found drugs and paraphernalia in his vehicle.
On August 10, 2026, Mesa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a trespassing complaint on the 3200 block of F Road in Clifton. When deputies attempted contact the male fled southbound through backyards; after a short foot pursuit he was detained on the 3200 block of E ½ Road and identified as Enrique Chavez, 31, of Clifton. Deputies searched Chavez’s vehicle and found drugs and drug paraphernalia; he was booked on charges including possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a <4G controlled substance (listed as flunitrazepam, ketamine, GHB), violation of a protection order and outstanding warrants, and authorities say no further information is available at this time.
