Man Arrested After Vehicle Ramming and Knife Threat in Hillsboro

On July 30 at about 3:00 p.m., Hillsboro police say a vehicle intentionally rammed another and the driver then threatened the victim with a knife before fleeing. Officers located the suspect vehicle at a Bog Road residence, established a perimeter, resolved the situation peacefully and took 78-year-old Kenneth R. Coffin into custody without incident. Coffin faces charges including reckless conduct (deadly weapon), attempted second-degree assault (deadly weapon), criminal threatening and conduct after an accident, and is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court appearance.
