On January 1, 2026, Spring Township Police responded to Giant in Sinking Spring after reports that counterfeit United States $100 bills had been passed in the store's Beer Garden. Police say Kenneth Irick Jr., 37, used fake $100 bills in two transactions — buying a six-pack of Modelo for $12.99 and a Troegs sample pack for $12.49 — and received approximately $86.23 and $87.51 in legitimate currency as change; he was charged with Forgery—Unauthorized Act in Writing.
