Man fatally shot on Dr. Luke Glenn Garrett Jr. Memorial Highway in Austell
Austell officers found an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound on Sept. 14; he was later pronounced dead at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center.
On Sept. 14, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m., Austell Police responded to the 6000 block of Dr. Luke Glenn Garrett Jr. Memorial Highway and located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Wellstar Cobb Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives from the Cobb County Crimes Against Persons Unit are assisting the Austell Police Department; investigators say the incident appears isolated and there is no known ongoing threat.
