Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced that 25-year-old Teagan English of Matamoras Borough was charged July 28, 2026 with endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault (victim under 6), false imprisonment of a minor (all felonies) and first‑degree misdemeanor terroristic threats. Detectives obtained videos and seized two cell phones showing English berating and threatening his 4‑year‑old son for painting on walls, barricading the child so he had to wave at a camera to be let out to use the bathroom, and a separate video of the child being lifted by the arm and slammed to the floor; English initially denied the recordings but later said he recorded them because he was “overwhelmed and stressed.” English was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Christina Ballas, held on $400,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in Pike County Central Court on August 4, 2026.
