Matthew Schirmer arrested at Saucon Square on fraud and theft charges
Reading man taken into custody July 26 on a Berks County warrant and transported to Northampton County Prison.
On Sunday, July 26, 2026 at approximately 11:25 a.m., police arrested 40-year-old Matthew Schirmer of Reading near the Dollar Tree at the Saucon Square shopping center on a Berks County warrant. He was wanted by the Muhlenberg Township Police Department on charges of Access Device Fraud (F3), Receiving Stolen Property (M1) and Theft of Property Lost, Mislaid or Delivered by Mistake (M2). Schirmer was transported to Northampton County Prison on a Berks County detainer; authorities list him as a 40-year-old white male, 6'2", 250 lbs.
