Miss Manners: How can I get my seventh-graders to be more polite?
A seventh-grade teacher says students no longer use basic polite phrases and asks for advice on how to convey their importance to 12-year-olds.
DEAR MISS MANNERS: I teach seventh grade in a suburban school. I have noticed an increasingly unsettling trend as I walk around the room to check on students: Nobody says “yes, please” or “no, thank you” anymore.
