Mobile Apps Every Parent Should Know
As students return to school, parents should learn the apps their children use — from social platforms to disguised “vault” apps — and be aware of features that can create safety risks.
Parents are urged to understand the apps children may be using, including Roblox, TikTok, Snapchat, Discord, WhatsApp, Wizz, Kik, Telegram, Yubo, MeetMe, Zoosk, Whisper, Reddit and Parler, as well as disguised apps like Best Secret Folder and Calculator%. Direct messaging, livestreaming, anonymous chats, location sharing, disappearing messages and in-app purchases can expose young people to unknown contacts and risks, and gaming platforms often include chat features and friend requests.
