Montour Township Hosts Identity Theft Seminar
Police and the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General offered practical tips on preventing, recognizing, and reporting identity theft.
The Montour Township Police Department, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, hosted a seminar to help residents safeguard personal information, recognize signs of identity theft, and learn how to report and recover. Speakers noted FTC data showing identity theft has been the top consumer complaint for 15 years and outlined resources for victims; the department also promoted upcoming seminars — "Opioids: What You Need to Know" on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 1pm and "Avoiding Holiday Scams" on Friday, November 13, 2026 at 1pm.
