Montour Township Hosts Identity Theft Seminar

The Montour Township Police Department, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, hosted an identity theft seminar at the township building offering guidance on protecting personal information, recognizing signs of fraud, reporting incidents, and resources for victims. Presenters cited Federal Trade Commission data showing identity theft has been the top consumer complaint for 15 years, affecting millions of Americans annually. Organizers also announced upcoming seminars: "Opioids: What You Need to Know" on Sept. 4, 2026 at 1 p.m., and "Avoiding Holiday Scams" on Nov. 13, 2026 at 1 p.m.
