The Montour Township Police Department reminds residents to prioritize safety during the heatwave: stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity between 11am and 3pm, wear lightweight loose-fitting clothing and hats, check on the elderly and young children, and never leave pets or children unattended in vehicles. Bloomsburg cooling stations are available at the Bloomsburg Fire Department (911 Market Street, Wed–Fri, 9am–4pm), New Possibilities Resources and Recovery Center (260 E 7th St, Wed–Fri, 12pm–4pm), and Bloomsburg Public Library (225 Market Street, Wed–Thu, 9am–8pm; Fri, 9am–4pm; Sat closed — may open 12pm–4pm if needed).
