Most people miss signs of Zika virus
Zika often causes no or only mild symptoms; common signs include fever, rash, red eyes, headache and joint pain.
Health officials say most people infected with the Zika virus either experience no symptoms at all or develop only mild illness, a factor that has made the mosquito-borne disease difficult to track during outbreaks. The virus is spread primarily through infected Aedes mosquitoes, though it can also be transmitted through sexual contact and from a pregnant person to a developing fetus.
