Motley B. Davis (1946 – 2026)

Motley B. Davis, 79, of Easton, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Easton Nursing and Rehab Center. He was the beloved husband of Carmen M. (Pena) Davis, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Chatham, Va., on Dec. 20, 1946, Motley was the son of the late Robert and Mamie (Waller) Davis. He dedicated 20 years of hard work and service as a Maintenance Mechanic at Shiloh Manor in Easton, where his hands-on skills kept the community running smoothly. A man of deep, unwavering faith, Motley was an active and devoted member of the Greater Shiloh Church in Easton, where he honorably served as a Deacon. His love for the Lord shone brightly through his music; he raised his voice in worship as a dedicated member of both the Voices of Victory choir and the Sons of Shiloh. Motley was also a gifted author, capturing his spiritual insights and life perspectives in his published book, The Long Journey Home. Outside of his work and ministry, Motley found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid gardener, an enthusiastic traveler and a generous soul who was always ready to help anyone in need. Above all else, Motley treasured his family. His grandchildren were his absolute world, and he lived to love, support and spoil them.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife, Carmen, he is survived by his children: Sherry Bailey and her husband David of Oxon Hill, Md., Andre Davis of New Haven, Conn., Michelle Thom and her husband Charles of Bethlehem, Pa., Latacha Berluche and her husband Charlie of Waldorf, Md., Sacha Castelli and her husband Michael of Binghamton, N.Y., Kerry Ransburg of Binghamton, N.Y. He is also survived by his siblings: Leon Davis and his wife Geneva of Chatham, Va., Katherine Stanton and her husband Stan of Danville, Va. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his many cherished grandchildren. Motley was predeceased by his siblings: Evone Davis, Robert Davis, John Davis, Queen Adams and Annie Jean Logan.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at the Greater Shiloh Church, 403 Pastor Fred Davis St., Easton, Pa. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at The Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
