Murder charges filed after skeletal remains of missing woman Kimberly Gsell found
Investigators located skeletal remains and charged a man with first-degree murder in the 2019 disappearance of a woman last seen at a Middlesex Township motel.
On Sept. 25, 2026 investigators discovered skeletal remains confirmed by Rapid DNA and dental records to be those of Kimberly Gsell, who disappeared Sept. 28-29, 2019 after being last seen at the Rodeway Inn in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. District Attorney Seán M. McCormack announced first-degree murder charges against David Allen Snyder, accusing him of strangling Gsell on Sept. 29, 2019; Snyder is held without bail and has a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 7, 2026. The DA credited multiple local and state law enforcement agencies, forensic analysts and Mercyhurst University forensic anthropology personnel for resolving the seven-year investigation; Snyder is presumed innocent unless convicted.
