Murrysville shooting under investigation; man arrested on drug, resisting charges

Murrysville Police and Westmoreland County Detectives responded to a gunshot wound report near Sardis Road and Hunter Road just before midnight on Oct. 25, 2026; the victim was found inside a vehicle and remains in critical condition at an area hospital. Minutes later officers located Nelson Hill, of Wilmerding, at a nearby residence; he was visibly intoxicated, attempted to flee and resist arrest, and officers say they found suspected heroin and crack cocaine on him. Hill faces charges of drug possession, resisting arrest and evading arrest, was denied bail and remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison; investigators say the shooting appears isolated and the investigation is ongoing.
