N.J. shortens high school wrestling season by 2 weeks
The NJSIAA approved a shortened 2026-27 wrestling season after scheduling conflicts at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall tied to a new MAAC tournament contract.
In its final meeting of the school year, the NJSIAA Executive Committee approved a proposal that would make the 2026-27 wrestling season 14 days shorter than it was this past season.
The decision to compress the season was necessitated by the five-year contract Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall signed to host the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.
