Nazareth-area cement quarry withdraws plan to dig deeper after five-year wait
The Stockertown-based quarry pulled its application after community concerns that pumping water could cause sinkholes and threaten nearby highway bridges.
Five years after the Buzzi Unicem cement quarry asked for permission to dig deeper, the Stockertown-based plant has now withdrawn that request, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
