Nazareth Borough Police Introduce First K-9, Valo
An 11-month-old Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois hybrid, Valo is Nazareth Borough’s first police K-9 and will begin formal training in October after an acclimation period with his handler.
The Nazareth Borough Police Department has welcomed K-9 Valo, an 11-month-old Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois hybrid who arrived from the Netherlands about two weeks ago. Officer Hartzell officially took possession of Valo; they will spend two weeks building their partnership before beginning official K-9 training in early October. Valo is the department’s first police K-9, a milestone made possible by community donations — to contribute, contact Officer/Handler Hartzell at [email protected] or Chief Randall S. Pompei Jr. at [email protected].
