Nazareth man arrested after allegedly standing on car hood, charged with assault and disorderly conduct
Police say a 58-year-old man stood on a caller’s car hood and made contact with a victim; he was released to a family member after charges were filed.
On July 16, 2026 at 7:42 AM, Nazareth police responded to a disturbance at 34 South Main Street and found 58-year-old Richard A. Thomas allegedly standing on a caller’s vehicle and damaging it. After multiple commands he complied; officers say he made physical contact with a victim, was taken to the Nazareth Police Station, released to a family member following consultation with the District Attorney’s Office, and charged with simple assault (M2), disorderly conduct (engaging in fighting), and harassment. No injuries were reported.
