Nazareth man arrested on strangulation, assault and harassment charges
Police say a 56-year-old Nazareth man admitted to slapping and choking a woman and was jailed on strangulation, assault and harassment charges.
On July 5, 2026 at 8:17 PM, Nazareth Police responded to a domestic disturbance on the 100 block of North New Street and found a woman with visible injuries to her hand. Officers located 56-year-old Judd Bednar, who cooperated and admitted to slapping and choking the woman; he was taken into custody and charged with second-degree felony strangulation, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Bednar was processed at the Nazareth Police station and transported to Northampton County Prison; all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
