NCPD Invites Public to Drone-as-First-Responder Demonstrations
Public demonstrations will show how autonomous Skydio drones provide rapid aerial awareness for emergency response, infrastructure inspections and asset monitoring.
The North Charleston Police Department will host public demonstrations of its Drone as First Responder (DFR) program at the NCPD South Bureau, 3401 Rivers Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405. Sessions are scheduled for Thursday, July 17 at 1:00 p.m.; Friday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m.; and Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. Officials will present the Skydio DFR autonomous system and its potential uses, including rapid deployment for emergency response, post-storm infrastructure inspections, situational awareness and asset monitoring to reduce response times and improve efficiency.
