NCPD Officers Honored for Investigation into Child Sex Abuse Material
Four North Charleston officers received Certificates of Recognition after a routine voyeurism complaint led to a child sexual abuse material (CSAM) probe.
M.P.O. Clifford Doorley, P.F.C. Jenna Helberg, P.F.C. Lucas Searles and Ptl. Carlton Bing were awarded Certificates of Recognition for June for their roles in a child sexual abuse material (CSAM) investigation. After P.F.C. Bing’s May 19 contact and a consented cellphone search uncovered CSAM, the Special Operations Intelligence Unit’s forensic review identified 56 videos of minors; investigators developed an operational plan, obtained arrest and residential search warrants, arrested the suspect at his workplace on June 25, seized additional electronic devices, and the investigation remains ongoing.
