New Cumberland Block Captain Program
Volunteer block captains will connect neighbors with police, share safety and emergency-preparedness information, coordinate cleanups and support residents. Information session: September 17, 2026, 6:00 PM at New Cumberland Fire Department.
The New Cumberland Borough Police Department invites residents to join a Block Captain Program information session on September 17, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the New Cumberland Fire Department (319 Fourth Street). Block captains act as neighborhood liaisons—reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement (not acting as police), sharing safety tips and borough updates, organizing cleanups, and assisting neighbors during emergencies. The program aims to boost neighborhood safety, strengthen community ties, improve local environments, and empower residents to shape their neighborhood culture.
