New Cumberland Block Captain Program to Boost Neighborhood Safety
Volunteer block captains will serve as liaisons to promote safety, communication and neighborhood engagement across New Cumberland.
The New Cumberland Borough Police Department is launching a Block Captain Program in which volunteers act as liaisons for their blocks to share safety information, report suspicious activity to law enforcement, support neighbors and organize community projects. The program aims to strengthen neighborhood connections, improve local upkeep and give residents a proactive role in shaping their community. Interested residents are invited to a meeting at the New Cumberland Fire Department (319 Fourth Street) on Sept. 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
