New York man arrested after attempting to use stolen credit cards at North Huntingdon Giant Eagle

On July 7, 2026, North Huntingdon Township Police arrested Quansheng Niu after Giant Eagle loss prevention detained him for making three transactions using eight different credit cards stored on his phone, two of which were flagged as stolen. He bought gift cards, water and groceries totaling $552.47 and investigators say he made additional attempted transactions at a Hempfield Township Giant Eagle; DHS was contacted and reported he was reportedly in the country illegally. Niu faces charges of access device fraud and retail theft and was denied bail; all charges are accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
