On July 7, 2026, North Huntingdon Township Police arrested Quansheng Niu after Giant Eagle loss prevention detained him for attempting to use multiple credit cards stored on his phone to buy $540 in gift cards and other items totaling $552.47; two of the cards were declined. Police say he made three transactions with eight different cards at the Route 30 store and later attempted eight more transactions at a Giant Eagle in Hempfield Township; DHS was contacted, he was denied bail and is charged with access device fraud and retail theft.
