Nichols Pools owner accused of taking payments, abandoning Hempfield Township pool project
Pennsylvania State Police say the owner of Nichols Pools accepted deposits and directed the purchase of materials for a Hempfield Township pool renovation but did not finish the work, leaving the project unusable.
Pennsylvania State Police filed three criminal cases against 45-year-old Nolan Nichols, owner of Nichols Pools, after a Hempfield Township homeowner reported in June 2026 that Nichols was hired in April to renovate an in-ground pool and build a deck. The contract began at $31,500 and rose to $37,300; the victim says she paid $9,000 in deposits and spent $20,000 on materials at Nichols’ direction, but Nichols allegedly failed to deliver a paid custom pool liner, requested additional payments, never completed the work and left the project unusable. Nichols faces similar charges in two other cases from March and June of this year; all charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
