NJ man arrested in Pike County on attempted trafficking charges involving 14-year-old
Pike County DA says Michael McGuire was arrested July 23 after allegedly traveling to meet a 14-year-old for paid sexual contact; detectives found $300 and condoms on him.
Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced that 49-year-old Michael McGuire of Rockaway, New Jersey, was arrested July 23, 2026, in Milford and charged with criminal attempt in trafficking in individuals, criminal attempt of patronizing a victim of sexual servitude, two counts of unlawful contact with a minor, criminal attempt of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and criminal attempt of statutory sexual assault. According to the affidavit, detectives say McGuire was willing to travel to Pike County to engage in sexual contact with a 14-year-old for $300; officers arrested him upon arrival and found two condoms and $300 in his possession. Magisterial District Judge Cristin Cavallaro set bail at $400,000 and McGuire is held at Pike County Correctional Facility pending a preliminary hearing on August 4, 2026; anyone with information about child abuse is asked to call Pennsylvania Childline at 800-932-0313. A person charged is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
