North Charleston man arrested after brief police pursuit
Police say 24-year-old Raul Santiz Hernandez led officers on a short pursuit before stopping in a residential yard and discarding beer cans.
A patrol officer observed a vehicle weaving around 10:51 p.m. and, after activating emergency lights on Buist Avenue, the driver initially slowed then accelerated away, traveling through Park Circle and several streets before stopping in a residential yard. Officers identified the driver as 24-year-old Raul Santiz Hernandez, who allegedly threw beer cans and a case of beer out the passenger-side window, exited the vehicle despite orders, and was arrested and taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center; charges include Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Open Container of Beer and Driving without a South Carolina driver’s license, and officers found outstanding warrants through Summerville Police.
