Officer Justin Bates Honored with Lifesaving Award
Honored for intervening off duty on August 4 to protect a child in crisis.
Officer Justin Bates was presented with the East Lansdowne Police Department Lifesaving Award at a Borough Council meeting after he intervened early morning on August 4 to assist a child in severe emotional distress. Having just completed a 12-hour tour and while off duty in his personal vehicle without body armor or a radio, Bates’s decisive actions prevented the loss of a young life; his parents, Mark and Renee, attended the ceremony to share the recognition.
