On June 30, 2026, East Lampeter Township presented Officer Nicholas Zollner with a Life Saving Award for his actions on June 2, 2026. At 2:56 p.m., Zollner responded to a cardiac arrest at the intersection of Strasburg Pike and Lincoln Highway East and found 46-year-old Matthew Scott Brandt unconscious in the roadway; Zollner used an AED that immediately delivered a shock. EMS continued lifesaving measures, Brandt survived, spent several days in the hospital, and was able to return home to his family.
